Closing the Loop in Retail Displays

The retail display industry has a linear supply chain, which results in low recycling opportunities. Companies in this industry often have significantly high Scope 3 emissions since the materials used are different types of plastics derived from natural resources such as crude oils. Recycling materials like PMMA, PETG, HIPS, PS, and GPPS can be challenging and expensive. This waste is often mismanaged, particularly on update kits and modules, which are difficult to collect and recycle due to their scattered and low-value nature. Compared to other industries, our process is much more intricate and does not allow for a simple recycling process.

We've created a solution to help our clients address this challenge. We offer a closed-loop recycling process that ensures we are not sending our old display cases to landfills. Our industry is heavily reliant on acrylic, which is one of the most difficult materials to recycle. However, by carefully monitoring our in-house recycling process, we recycle 500+ pounds of acrylic weekly. That's over 26,000 pounds of material taken from our facility, recycled, and regenerated annually. Moreover, recycling our clients' display cases would result in significantly higher recycling rates.

So, how are we closing the loop? We send this reclaimed material, both post-industrial and post-consumer, to a facility in the mid-west, where it is liquified and regenerated into new acrylic sheets, which we then use in our upcoming projects. Taking acrylic recycling to the next level, we offer sustainable solutions that provide superior optical clarity and are physically and chemically resistant.
